Brachioplasty

Brachioplasty Procedure Perth

Brachiopalsty is a cosmetic procedure to improve the appearance of upper arms by removing excess skin and fat that hangs inferior to the arms between the armpit (axilla) and elbow.

This excess skin and fat can affect the appearance of arms, giving them a bulky, sagging or droopy look. Often this is caused by ageing, weight gain and weight loss, but can also be heredity.

If any of these factors have changed the look of your arms, exercise alone will not correct these issues. Exercise will tone muscles, but excess skin needs to be removed. Tightening of the tissue and removal of fat to give the arms a younger, slimmer and toned appearance may also be required.

If you are unsure if a brachioplasty is right for you, but you have experienced one of the following problems?

  • Excess skin and or fat that affects clothing choice.
  • Excess skin from weight loss that betrays the size of your arms.
  • Loss of arm tone from heredity skin sag.
  • Loose skin that has increased with age.

You may gain a great deal of benefit from a brachioplasty procedure from the visual changes and a boost in body image.

What to Expect and Brachioplasty Recovery

The incision line will be made from the armpit (axilla) crease to the elbow to minimise the visual appearance of the scar. Excess tissue is removed and the skin will be closed using dissolvable sutures.

Expect to wear a pressure garment post surgery to minimise swelling. The wound will be covered by a dressing which will be cared for post-operatively at the office in the weeks following your surgery.

During your recovery time, Dr Randle and his team will provide post-operative care and all necessary information to assist with a supportive and smooth recovery.
